Dream Job

I am so in love with these kids.  I am definitely a doting mother because I would rather be with these two little people all the time than be with anyone else (it's always a bonus when Andrew it there too, of course). Look at those grins.  I'm sure there is one hiding behind those fingers somewhere, Miss Ella.

Watching these two together puts such joy in my heart.  They are already creating a bond that will never be broken.  Of course they will go through times when they don't like each other and fight like cats and dogs, but those are just the growing pains. Henry will be the only one allowed to mess with his little sister.  If anyone else does it, they will have to answer to him.

This sweet little face will keep us laughing and will brighten many days with just one look. And even as Andrew and I go back and forth several times tonight as I'm writing this, trying to put them to bed, they still fill my heart. I secretly want Henry to come in and fall asleep cuddled with me, but he is not my cuddler.

They are both already so smart.  Always wanting to learn and try new things.  I don't mind that Henry is opinionated or hard-headed, I know it will serve him well throughout life.  Ella loves everyone she meets.  If there is someone or something to entertain her she will be happy for hours.

Even when I knew I wanted children I never truly new how happy I would be as a mom.  This is my dream job.

The Big 2nd Birthday Bash

We had such a fun party for Henry on Saturday, June 7th.  It was a jungle animal theme.  My good friend, Jenny Farha, made a beautiful cake that was definitely the center of attention (besides the birthday boy of course).

My mother in law, Sally, and I worked hard to prepare snacks in the kitchen while trying to keep Henry from digging into his cake.

Guests started to arrive and the party really got started.  We set up the pool Henry got from Grammy and Grandpa in the backyard with a slip n slide and the water table.  I didn't even realize there was going to be something for all ages, but it worked out perfectly and the weather really held out for us.  Thank goodness the rain stopped! I don't know what I would have done if all these kids were playing in our house :)

I was even able to enjoy some time with Henry on the trampoline.

After about an hour we came in to sing Happy Birthday to Henry.  It was sad to see the cake being cut into, but oh so good to eat!

We are so blessed to have such amazing friends and family who know exactly what a two year old wants for his birthday.  Henry was a little tired by this point (getting over being sick) so hopefully my expressions show how excited he was to receive his gifts.

I think we snapped this picture right before heading downstairs so Henry could see his present from Boompa and Nana (an amazing pop up play set with a ball pit and tunnels that Henry loves).  Except ALL of the kids headed downstairs and I my eyes are saying, "take the picture so I can go manage the herd!"

Ella had a good time too.  I didn't see her the whole time, but I'm pretty sure she wasn't put down for the entire party.  Lots of people to love her.  This picture shows how we all felt when the party was over.

Happy 2nd Birthday, Henry - June 5th, 2014

Henry's 2nd birthday didn't start off exactly how we planned, but it was a wonderful time despite our sick little boy.  Andrew and I decided to give Henry his birthday present before Andrew left for work.  We got him a Strider bike and Ella got him a helmet. We can't wait for the weather to get nice so we can take it for a spin!

Grandma and Granddad, Andrew's parents, drove down from Indianapolis to celebrate his birthday with us.  So, later that morning we headed downstairs so Henry could see his new table.  He loves the drawers! A great gift for everyone to enjoy!

The fun never ends.  Grammy and Grandpa came over to give Henry a gift as well.  We will all enjoy the family pool for our backyard!  I love these gifts for the whole family!

Although Henry didn't feel well he still managed to blow out some candles and stuff down some cake. :)

Such a sweet boy!  Happy Birthday! I love you!
