Ella Ruth - 6 months

My sweet little girl is growing up so fast! Half a year old all ready and just as happy as she can be.  She is starting to lose some of her baby plump and it just makes her seem older.  She's at the stage where everything goes straight into her mouth.

She has this amazing ability to make everyone smile.  Henry and her are starting to really bond and I can't wait to see what the relationship grows into.

Ella's First Birthday Party

December 6th, 2014 we had Ella's first birthday party.  I had so much fun decorating! There were pink and black balloons and streamers everywhere and pictures of Ella decorated the whole house.  My favorite part was our Birthday Tree. I took our Christmas Tree, put streamers around it and then taped pictures of Ella and the rest of the family to the streamers.  I still have it up now, I'm not sure I'm going to take it down :)

We had a wonderful brunch of egg casserole, yogurt with granola and fruit and cinnamon rolls (made by my awesome mother).  Then we decided to really blow everyone's sugar levels out of the water and made cupcakes as well (in hindsight we should have done cupcakes or cinnamon rolls, but hindsight is 20/20).

I had three different crafts for the all of the kids to do, each in a different room of the house, a pipe cleaner and beaded candy cane; ornaments to decorate; and a hot chocolate reindeer to take home and enjoy!  All of the kids played so well together!  We had the tunnel and ball pit set up downstairs so they could just run around and work off some of the sugar we had to force down them :).

We are so blessed with wonderful family and friends who spoil our children with amazing gifts and such generosity.  Ella loves everything she got (when Henry lets her play with it) and I'm so thankful that she has toys to play with that keep her attention so that I can get things done, like write a blog.

I can't believe a year has gone by.  Ella has such a sweet, ornery personality and I love watching her grow!

Blessings!

Dream Job

I am so in love with these kids.  I am definitely a doting mother because I would rather be with these two little people all the time than be with anyone else (it's always a bonus when Andrew it there too, of course). Look at those grins.  I'm sure there is one hiding behind those fingers somewhere, Miss Ella.

Watching these two together puts such joy in my heart.  They are already creating a bond that will never be broken.  Of course they will go through times when they don't like each other and fight like cats and dogs, but those are just the growing pains. Henry will be the only one allowed to mess with his little sister.  If anyone else does it, they will have to answer to him.

This sweet little face will keep us laughing and will brighten many days with just one look. And even as Andrew and I go back and forth several times tonight as I'm writing this, trying to put them to bed, they still fill my heart. I secretly want Henry to come in and fall asleep cuddled with me, but he is not my cuddler.

They are both already so smart.  Always wanting to learn and try new things.  I don't mind that Henry is opinionated or hard-headed, I know it will serve him well throughout life.  Ella loves everyone she meets.  If there is someone or something to entertain her she will be happy for hours.

Even when I knew I wanted children I never truly new how happy I would be as a mom.  This is my dream job.
